PRESS RELEASE - MAGNUS X UAC AGREEMENT

August 29th, 2019

Today, UAC (United Aircraft Corporation) and Aviation Engineering Zrt., subsidiary of Magnus Aircraft Zrt., have signed a cooperative agreement at the 14th International Aeronautical Exhibition, MAKS.

Under the terms of contract, UAC has transferred the manufacturing and sales rights of the Il-103 type aircraft to Magnus Aircraft. The agreement provides not only for manufacturing and sales, but also for further long-term joint development, such as the modernization of the Il-103 and the development, production and sale of other types of aircraft in the long-term plan.

The Russian United Aircraft Corporation manufactures and markets all types of Mikoyan, Sukhoi, Yakovlev, Tupolev, and Ilyushin aircraft. The aerospace giant was formed in 2006 as a result of the merge of several huge aerospace companies, including Ilyushin, Mikoyan, and Sukhoi for the development and unification of the Russian aerospace industry.

The IL-103 was developed in the 1990s by the Ilyushin Design Bureau, which was later the first Russian aircraft to achieve FAA certification in 1998. The robust 4-seater is safe and comfortable in extreme conditions as well, designed especially for everyday use.

Under the contract Magnus Aircraft, which has been developing, manufacturing and selling composite two-seater recreational and training aircraft, manufactures and sells the IL-103 aircraft exclusively worldwide from now on. The contract is also a huge opportunity for the Hungarian company to export its composite elements and the Fusion product line to Russia.

From the Russian side Mr Yury SLYUSAR, General Director of UAC, and Yuri GRUDININ, General Director of Ilyushin were present on the ceremony. László BOROS, President of Aviation Engineering Zrt., Róbert HORVÁTH, CEO of Aviation Engineering Zrt., István FÁBIÁN, Project Manager of Magnus Aircraft Zrt., Georgij KAKTUS, Owner of Aviation Engineering Zrt., and Gábor FÁBIÁN as Key Account Manager and Test Pilot of Magnus Aircraft Zrt. were representing the Hungarian side.
