Magnus Aircraft Takes Part in High-Level CEE–China Strategic Innovation Cooperation Event Series

From 6 to 12 September, Magnus Aircraft’s Chinese subsidiary had the opportunity to participate in a major two-stop event series focusing on strategic innovation cooperation between Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and China.

The event series provided an important platform for companies, universities and research institutions from the CEE region to connect with Chinese partners, explore new cooperation opportunities and present their technological capabilities and international ambitions.

Representing Magnus Aircraft, Zoltán György, Director of the company’s Chinese business operations, delivered a presentation in Chinese, introducing the company’s flagship product, the Fusion two-seat sport aircraft, as well as Magnus Aircraft’s activities in China to date and its plans for the future.

China as a Strategic Market for Magnus Aircraft

China is a key market in Magnus Aircraft’s international growth strategy, with the company placing particular emphasis on the opportunities emerging from the development of the low-altitude economy.

Magnus Aircraft’s cooperation with Chinese partners extends beyond the aviation sector. The company is also working with Chinese stakeholders to expand the application areas of carbon composite materials and to explore the development of other high-performance, highly functional materials.

These areas represent important opportunities for long-term technological and business cooperation and complement Magnus Aircraft’s core expertise in the development and manufacturing of composite aircraft.

The company has been steadily strengthening its presence in China. In November 2024, Magnus Aircraft opened its first international showroom in Wuxi, while the development of a manufacturing facility in China is also part of the company’s long-term expansion plans.

Connecting CEE Innovation with Chinese Partners

The first stop of the event series took place in Tianjin, near Beijing, where the Central and Eastern Europe – China Science and Technology Exchange Association, an organisation actively supporting bilateral innovation cooperation in Hungary, helped connect Hungarian participants with relevant Chinese partners.

The programme provided an opportunity to establish new professional and business contacts and to identify potential areas for future technological cooperation between CEE and Chinese stakeholders.

The second stop of the roadshow took place in Ningbo, near Shanghai, where a four-day, ministerial-level Chinese event brought together leading companies, universities and research institutions from Central and Eastern Europe with Chinese partners.

More than 170 international participants from 14 CEE countries attended the event, while the total number of participants, including Chinese guests, exceeded 500. The programme also brought together senior Chinese political representatives and relevant members of the diplomatic corps.

For Magnus Aircraft, the event provided a valuable opportunity to present its Fusion aircraft, its achievements and activities in China, as well as its future plans for the Chinese market, while further strengthening the business and professional relationships that support the company’s long-term presence in the region.
